My father was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2013. My mother and father moved in to live with us while he got radiation treatments. It was easier for them to be here in Dothan than drive from their home at Lake Euafaula .

During this time I started woodworking in my garage as a hobby. I would be out there experimenting with sign making. This was a chance to be in my own little world and be distracted from my father’s illness.

My father died in our home on August 2, 2013. I think about him every day. I think about him more when I’m in the garage making my wood projects.
